Knowlton Benefit Consultants is a Memphis-based company that provides employee benefits to businesses in the MidSouth area. We act as a liaison between insurance companies and employers in establishing group life, health, disability, and other employee benefit plans. We design the most creative, cost-effective and service-oriented employee benefit programs and place business with many insurance companies and self-funded plans.

We primarily serve companies with 2 to 500 employees that do not have a full-time human resources department. At Knowlton Benefits Consultants, our professional team’s primary objective is to make each client feel they are our most important customer.

Company History

In 1988, Milton Knowlton and his former partner, Kirke Lewis, formed what was originally Lewis and Knowlton Financial Company to serve their clients who had small businesses and needed help getting group health coverage.

Many of these business owners did not have HR staff and needed someone to help them with health insurance administration. We wanted them to be able to have the best customer service and felt we could provide it.

The market has changed much over the past 30 years, but our goal of helping small companies have the best benefits and best customer service has not changed.
